Steering systems: manoeuvrability with less stress
In vehicles with multiple axles, scrubbing occurs between tyre and road surface when cornering. Especially at low speeds, during tight manoeuvres and in intensive shunting operations, this leads to additional tyre wear, greater stress on components and a larger turning circle.
A steered rear axle prevents axles from being passively dragged along. One or more axles steer in a controlled way with the vehicle’s line of travel, allowing the wheels to follow a more natural cornering path with less resistance.
In practice, this means:
- Better manoeuvrability in confined spaces
- Less stress on axles, chassis and suspension
- Better vehicle control for the driver, with less risk of damage
At low speeds, the focus is on manoeuvrability and reducing the turning circle. At higher speeds, the focus shifts to ride composure, stability and predictable vehicle behaviour. The system is tuned to speed, vehicle configuration and application.

Suspension systems: stability, comfort and control
Suspension determines how a vehicle responds to load, movement and road surface. A well-designed suspension system absorbs irregularities and keeps ride height, stability and load distribution under control.
This is particularly relevant in vehicles with heavy or variable loads: buses, special vehicles and industrial applications where ride comfort and safety are directly linked to the suspension system.
Our suspension systems provide:
- Better ride stability and fewer unwanted body movements
- Lower peak loads on vehicle components
- More predictable vehicle behaviour under changing conditions and less wear in daily operation

Integration as part of the vehicle design
A steering or suspension system only performs properly when it fits the overall vehicle design. That is why we look beyond the component itself. Available installation space, axle arrangement, load, interfaces and maintenance access together determine which solution is best suited to the application and vehicle configuration.
Our systems combine proven standard solutions with targeted adaptation to the application, making integration easier without compromising performance.
Four disciplines come together in this process:
- Mechanical: power transmission, reliability and installation in the vehicle
- Hydraulics: controlled movement under high load
- Electronics: signal processing, sensors and system monitoring
- Software: translating vehicle data into system behaviour, tailored to speed, configuration and operating conditions
By developing these disciplines as one system, the result is a solution that is both technically reliable and practically applicable for OEMs and vehicle manufacturers.

Less wear, less downtime
More precise steering behaviour and controlled vehicle movements reduce stress on tyres, axles, chassis and suspension. Less scrubbing reduces tyre wear. Lower peak loads ease the strain on components. As wear becomes more manageable, maintenance becomes more predictable.
For fleet operators and users, that predictability is essential: unplanned downtime has a direct effect on planning, deployment and costs.
Our systems contribute both to performance while driving and to reliable operation throughout the vehicle’s entire service life.

For OEMs, vehicle manufacturers and special applications
Every application places different demands on a system. That is why we always develop from the perspective of the specific vehicle and the practical situation:
- Trailer: greater manoeuvrability, a shorter turning circle and less tyre wear
- Bus: stability, ride comfort and predictable behaviour under variable occupancy
- Special vehicle: tailored solutions for limited installation space, unusual axle configurations or specific functional requirements
Where possible, we work with proven standard technology. Where necessary, we adapt the system to the vehicle, the available space and the performance required in practice.
