Integrated suspension, damping and ride-height control in one compact unit

Electrification, limited packaging space and higher safety requirements call for different choices in vehicle design. HPS Advanced is a fully integrated hydropneumatic suspension and damping system in which sensors, motor-pump unit and active ride-height control are brought together in one compact unit. The system has been developed for OEMs and vehicle manufacturers working on new truck platforms.

Series production is planned from 2030. OEMs and vehicle manufacturers wishing to get involved early can participate in the partner programme to jointly validate HPS Advanced and align it with their vehicle architecture.

Why choose HPS Advanced for trucks?

Active stabilisation under varying loads and terrain
The HPS Advanced system continuously monitors ride height, system pressure and driving dynamics. It then actively adjusts the suspension to ensure stable and predictable handling in varying loads and terrains.

Everything integrated into one system
Sensors, motor-pump unit and ride-height control are brought together in one unit. This means fewer separate components, fewer connections and fewer maintenance points. In addition, integration into the chassis becomes considerably simpler.

More than 30% space saving compared with air suspension systems
HPS Advanced is more than 30% more compact than comparable air suspension systems with equal load-carrying capacity and stroke length. In electric trucks, battery packs, driveline and cooling systems already take up a great deal of space. As a result, OEMs and vehicle manufacturers gain more freedom in chassis packaging.

Efficiency, performance and safety

Low energy consumption during lifting and levelling
The system is designed to minimise energy consumption during active ride-height control. This is relevant for electric and hybrid trucks, where the energy consumption of auxiliary systems directly affects the vehicle’s operational capability.

Active ride-height control with large stroke length
The truck actively adapts to changing loads, loading and unloading, or driving on uneven terrain. Ride comfort and stability are maintained across the full operating spectrum.

Developed in accordance with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434
HPS Advanced is being developed in accordance with ISO 26262 for functional safety and ISO 21434 for cybersecurity. This aligns with the requirements increasingly being placed on business-critical vehicle systems, including within OEM platform development, safety-critical applications and future homologation trajectories.
